About This Tour

Just 30 minutes from Cabo, Picacho Adventures is home to a one-of-a-kind camel sanctuary — a registered PIMVS conservation center under Mexico's SEMARNAT. These are rescued camels, calm and sociable, cared for by a dedicated team that has built a genuine bond with each animal. Your experience begins with a short desert safari through the rugged Baja landscape, with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and possible whale sightings in season. Then you'll mount up for a 25-minute camel ride along the beach — a genuinely unique moment that very few places in the world can offer. Afterward, spend time at the camel sanctuary, meet Choyerito (the first camel born in Los Cabos), and wrap up with a tequila tasting at the on-site museum. A professional photographer documents the whole experience — photos available for purchase at the end.

What Travelers Are Saying

4.8

"Unique and wonderful"

Riding a camel through the Baja desert was something I never expected to do in Mexico and it was absolutely wonderful. The camels are gentle and the guides are knowledgeable and fun. The desert scenery is beautiful and the whole experience is surprisingly relaxing.

"Kids loved every second"

Our kids (7 and 10) were absolutely thrilled by the camel ride. The animals are gentle and well-cared-for and the guides were wonderful with the children. The desert backdrop makes for incredible photos. A unique and memorable family experience.

Michelle S.February 2026

"Surprisingly relaxing"

I expected the camel ride to be bumpy and uncomfortable but it was actually quite smooth and relaxing. The desert scenery is beautiful and the guides share interesting facts about the camels and the local landscape. A wonderful and unique experience.

Robert P.January 2026

"Fun and unique"

The camel ride is a fun and unique experience — not something you expect to do in Mexico! The camels are well-trained and the guides are friendly. It's a shorter activity so pair it with something else for a full day. Great photos and great memories.
